Big Appliances knocks big bucks off Belling range cookers

Purfleet, Essex (mynewsdesk), August 24 2010 – Money, they say, isn’t everything. Try telling that to Essex based white goods super stars Big Appliances, whose latest crazy price cuts on the Belling range cooker family (including the Belling Classic Range) is putting customers into something of a spin.

The Belling range cooker family has commanded respect from professional and domestic chef alike for years now. Its combination of classic style, easy maintenance and well thought out functions (not to mention excellent energy ratings and the existence of dual fuel models) has made the marque a solid favourite in the luxury home, the show room and the television kitchen. Big Appliances reckon a significant proportion of the UK sales of Belling Classic range cookers are down to popular TV cookery shows: “the audience might not know the brand,” the site says: “but when they see a Belling range cooker in the flesh they make the connection.”

“Our advice is to get in quick,” said one family member. “If you want to get in at all.” Well, they would say that, wouldn’t they. The advice, though, is good – finding Belling cookers at this price anywhere is practically unheard of, and with Big Appliances’ excellent range of fringe benefits (which are mostly composed of things they don’t charge their customers for, like no delivery costs and no hidden subscription fees) still applying, the time to buy one is obviously now.

Whatever the reasons for the popularity of a Belling cooker, one thing is for sure. They won’t be found cheaper anywhere else. It looks like Big Appliances has got the UK market well and truly beaten here – an appearance borne out by the rapidity with which their stock is flying out of the door.

As per usual, it’s all about what people are prepared to pay. In a recession, the answer is: less. Big Appliances, who have been passing on their own savings for nearly 50 years, aren’t really doing anything out of the ordinary, which means they’re not really feeling the burn. The family company from Purfleet is going right along doing what it always has done.

It’s everyone else who’s feeling the pinch: and with those Belling range cookers just the tip of a big discount iceberg, it looks like they’re about to be feeling that pinch with a little more severity than they thought. When one stops to consider the concealed delivery charges and subscription fees the competition has been making money off for years, one finds it very hard to feel sorry for them.
