Oslo Airport issues invitation to tender
In connection with the opening of a new departures and arrivals hall, as well as a new terminal pier, Oslo Airport has issued an invitation to tender for commercial spaces for shops and food and beverage establishments.
Oslo Airport is expanding. A new departures and arrivals hall, as well as a new terminal pier with an annual capacity of approx. 28 million passengers, are scheduled to open on 27 April 2017. With the launch of this new space in 2017, the airport will gain 22,000 square metres for commercial activity such as shops and food and beverage establishments.
"The expansion we are already in the process of implementing will allow us to accommodate this growth in passenger numbers. However, we also need an airport that can provide a good range of services and options for travellers," says Managing Director Øyvind Hasaas.
Oslo Airport wants to lease the areas earmarked for commercial activity to professional organizations.
"The steps we are taking now will totally revamp how passengers experience the terminal, including exciting new food, beverage and shopping options. The overall experience here will contribute to making Oslo Airport an even more pleasant airport to visit," says Hasaas.
"We will also offer good, competitive prices, thus providing better service options overall for travelers.”
Starting 1 January 2017, the new allocation plan will include space for approximately 35 food and beverage outlets, as well as approximately 35 areas for shops.
"We have areas available on both the domestic and international departure levels, as well as on the arrival level. We look forward to receiving applications from many good bidders who can contribute to the further development of Oslo Airport," concludes Hasaas.
