AlphaMed Press partners with Oxford University Press to publish journals

Oxford University Press (OUP) and AlphaMed Press are pleased to announce that OUP will publish three AlphaMed Press journals: The Oncologist, STEM CELLS, and STEM CELLS Translational Medicine beginning January 2022.

The Oncologist is a 26-year-old monthly, peer reviewed open access publication committed to helping cancer physicians excel in the constantly changing fields of oncology and hematology through the publication of timely reviews, original studies, and commentaries. The journal aims to help oncologists understand a range of disciplines by connecting translational research and clinical practice but also looks at the socioeconomic and psychosocial factors that determine access to care and quality of life and function following cancer treatment.

STEM CELLS is the 39-year-old flagship monthly journal that publishes peer reviewed advances made by clinical and basic scientists with expertise in the rapidly expanding fields of stem and progenitor cell biology. STEM CELLS focuses primarily on the functional and mechanistic aspects of stem cell biology and the potential of different types of stem cells for therapeutic applications. Articles demonstrate well-controlled advances in stem cell clinical trials and mechanism-based manuscripts with definitive conclusions.

STEM CELLS Translational Medicine is a monthly, peer reviewed open access publication that advances the responsible utilization of cells for clinical therapy. By bridging stem cell molecular and biological research and helping speed translations of emerging lab discoveries into clinical trials, the journal helps move applications of these critical investigations closer to accepted best patient practices and ultimately improve outcomes.

“Our collaborative partnership with OUP will preserve and build upon the journals’ success and ensure continued growth and raised visibility to attract the best papers in the field,” said Ann Murphy, President and CEO of AlphaMed Press. “We believe the journals will benefit from the scale and breadth of OUP’s resources.”

Alison Denby, Vice President, Journals, at Oxford University Press, also commented: “We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with AlphaMed Press. Their prestigious journals perfectly complement our existing portfolio, and we are excited to work collaboratively with their respected editorial boards to grow engagement with their high-quality content.”
