Panasonic to Attend the Inaugral Hungry Eye: Exposed Event
Panasonic is pleased to be attending the inaugural Hungry Eye: Exposed imaging event on Friday 2nd May 2014 at Falmouth University. Hungry Eye is dedicated to professional photography and filmmaking and is a magazine for the professional, the passionate and the inquisitive, making it well suited to host such an event. The first ever Hungry Eye event will include an array of guest speakers, an opportunity to look at some of the latest equipment on offer from a select number of manufacturers, as well as ample time for questions and answers from leading imaging specialists.
An action packed day, the event will include talks from Hungry Eye’s contributors Peter Dench and Tom Oldham, offering an interesting insight into their differing styles and client base. The Hungry Eye: Exposed event will be screening Thomas Leach’s ‘In No Great Hurry’ documentary in Falmouth University’s cinema, followed by a rare Q&A opportunity with Tomas Leach, via skype.
The only AV brand at this event, Panasonic will join a select number of imaging brands to offer attendees an informal opportunity to look at some of the latest imaging equipment. Panasonic’s stand will showcase the award winning LUMIX G range of cameras and lenses, including the new and much anticipated DMC-GH4. Panasonic will also demonstrate the GH4 with the DMW-YAGHE Interface unit, designed exclusively for professional/industrial workflow, enabling more powerful video transmission, complying with Full HD (4:2:2 / 10 bit) four parallel output or 4K (4:2:2 / 10 bit) output, both with time code. Panasonic’s Imaging Product Specialist will be on hand to answer any questions and visitors will be able to see live demonstrations being output on a large Panasonic 4K monitor.
Nick Driftwood, producer of broadcast quality material for the UK television market, interactive video media for Internet & multimedia delivery, and Hugh Hastings, the former Official Photographer at a Premier League Football Club for nine years, will guide attendees through the best options for taking photographs and making films using Panasonic’s impressive kit. This will include the setup, audio, picture setting, and the range of lenses and accessories that will work alongside the GH4. For those looking to make their images and video as best-looking for stills and broadcasting purposes as possible, Nick and Hugh’s talk will be most welcome. They will also show attendees how to get the best out of the h264 compression and how to finalise work for Vimeo/Youtube and Theatre/Cinema release.
Aptly being held at the multi-arts Falmouth University, tickets are available free of charge to students, and will also be available to camera clubs, local retailers, galleries and press in the region. Tickets will be allocated by Hungry Eye, Pixel magazine, Falmouth University, and local and regional press PR channels during the run up to the event.
