High performance in surge protection

With the new Flashtrab SPP combined lightning current and surge arresters from the Safe Protection Plus product family, Phoenix Contact is providing innovative surge and lightning current protection for modern installations and systems: powerful, safe, and compact.

The FLT-SPP combined lightning current and surge arresters set new standards in surge protection: The triggered multi-carbon spark gap technology enables a discharge capacity of up to 100 kA and reliably handles both large and small pulses as well as pulses arriving in quick succession. With their fast response behavior and low residual voltage curve, the combined lightning current and surge arresters protect sensitive system parts particularly effectively, without any wear.

The FLT-SPP features decisive advantages for planners, operators, and installers: Miswiring and touch protection, a reduced tightening torque, and the new plug-and-unplug concept facilitate safe installation and maintenance. The double insulation between the main and auxiliary circuits meets the requirements of IEC 61343-11. The narrow design of 17.5 mm per path and the modular pluggability enable the combined lightning current and surge arrester to be used flexibly. The fuse-free operation up to 315 A and suitability for altitudes of up to 5,000 m make them particularly suitable for building, wind, and telecommunications systems.
