New Connection Technology for Building-Integrated Photovoltaics

Phoenix Contact is introducing a junction box for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). This single-terminal connection element is the third member of the SUNCLIX For BIPV product family; its adjustable width makes it easy to integrate into insulating glass modules.

In conjunction with miniature DC plug connectors and a diode box to prevent inverted string currents, the entire connection system can be installed out of sight in the window frame or facade area. This opens up entirely new possibilities for architects and building planners.

The junction box, which is sealed at the same time as the insulating glass module, can handle currents up to 15 A and voltages up to 1000 V. With the SUNCLIX  For BIPV product range, Phoenix Contact is now offering a full-scale connection system from junction box to field cabling.
