Real-time switch for Profinet with high protection rating

The FL Switch IRT real-time switches, part of Phoenix Contact’s Factory Line, are now available with a high protection rating of IP65/67. These switches facilitate local setup of Profinet fibre-optic networks in the field. Connection to the Ethernet ports and to the power supply is made possible via easy-to-use push-pull connectors with downward-pointing cable outlets for faster installation. 

The switches are optimised for Profinet applications through the use of Ertec technology. Also, cut-through switching provides shorter latency times for the forwarding of data packets. The switches feature a built-in Profinet IO device that allows for full configuration and monitoring via the Profinet controller. The devices are equipped with three polymer fibre ports, providing the basis for interference-free, diagnostic-capable fibre-optic systems.
