New Black Edition Nokia X6 16GB Gets an O2 Release
A new black colour variant of the 16GB Nokia X6 has now been released on O2 pay monthly deals, this latest addition to the Nokia X6 16GB range joins the pink, white and silver colour variants already on offer.
Offering half of the memory capacity of the original Nokia X6 32GB models might sound a little lame, but the 16Gb editions can all have their memories expanded using MicroSD cards where the 32Gb models offer a fixed internal memory.
To keep costs down even further Nokia have omitted the 'Comes with Music' service from these new handsets, as these new colour schemes are very much aimed at a youthful more fashionable market it was essential to make sure they were available at an affordable price.
The new Black Nokia X6 however is a little different to the rest in the series in offering a very muted all black finish to its outside casing, in contrast the pink, white and blue colour schemes are bold and vibrant and will surely stand out in a crowd.
The main features of the Nokia X6 16GB include a 5.0 mega pixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, 3.5G data support for fast download speeds, a 3.2 inch touch screen display which is also found in the recently launched Nokia N97 mini and a comprehensive music player with a 3.5mm jack so that the user can plug in their own set of standard headphones instead of those included in the box.
The X6 range does not face that much competition in terms of dedicated music phones in the current marketplace, the Walkman range from Sony Ericsson is probably as close as it gets with their Sony Ericsson W995 being the most advanced to date, however it does not offer the touch screen interface of the X6 although it does incorporate a slightly better camera at 8.1 mega pixels.
There looks to be a further network launch in the offing by Vodafone for the new black edition of this handset whilst the rest of the colour range continue to find new networks almost daily.
The Pink Nokia X6 is already available on O2, Orange and T-Mobile pay monthly tariffs whilst the White edition is on O2, Orange and Vodafone.
The Silver Nokia X6 is only currently able to be connected to Vodafone contract deals however there are further network roll-outs planned for this model as well.
