New Nokia X6 Joins the 16GB Range - X6 Black Edition

The latest Nokia X6 16GB series has now gained a new member, the Black Nokia X6 is the latest addition to this new music orientated range and joins the X6 pink, silver, blue and white editions.

The Nokia X6 Black 16GB is a smaller memory version of the original X6 model which was released in both red on black and blue on silver/white colour variants with a 32GB memory, however these previous models did not allow for an expandable memory whereas the new 16GB models do.

There is still enough room to store up to 5,500 music tracks on the new X6 16GB but this can be expanded using MicroSd cards for the real music enthusiasts, one other marked difference between the two ranges is the exclusion of the 'Comes with Music' service found on the original handsets, this has been removed to keep costs down.

The Black X6 is a very different kettle of fish compared with the other colour schemes in the range, understated, this new model shys away from the bold pink and blue accents of the others in favour of a muted all black finish for those that don't need to show off.

Aimed at the youth and fashion market, the new Nokia X6 16GB edition goes heads up against the Nokia N97 mini model, both offer exactly the same 3.2 inch touch screen display and 5.0 mega pixel camera although the N97 Mini also incorporates a handy slide out Qwerty keyboard for those that like to physically press buttons whilst typing.

Originally launched on T-Mobile and Orange deals, the new Nokia X6 Black edition is now available on a range on O2 pay monthly deals, the best of these at launch being on the O2 300+Unlimited tariff which gives a free handset alongside 300 minutes of calls at any time and to any network (including landlines) plus unlimited text messaging every month for just £25 line rental.

There is only one other manufacturer that offers a dedicated range of music phones and that is the Sony Ericsson Walkman range, of these models the Sony Ericsson W995 is probably as close as you'll get on specifications to the X6 although there is no touch screen, there is instead a slide out keypad but a better camera in the form of an 8.1 mega pixel unit.

There are a number of phones from rival manufacturers that can compete in term of screen size and features, namely the LG Pop, Samsung Omnia 2, HTC Touch 2 and Sony Ericsson Aino although the latter limits some functions on its touch screen.

The new Black edition Nokia X6 16GB is also expected to be launched on further networks soon with Vodafone looking to be the next operator to pick up this high specification music device.
