The Super HTC Rhyme Comes With A Range Of Accessories

HTC have announced details of their first ever smartphone that is aimed at the female market. The HTC Rhyme is an impressive looking device that offers some great features that should see the phone compete well in the mid range market. Here we take a look at what this phone offers consumers.

In terms of design the HTC Rhyme boasts the same great build quality as can be found in many of the brands previous offerings. The phones sports an aluminium unibody which gives the phone a premium look and this look is further enhanced by the three colour variations that the model is available in. The Plum, Hourglass and Clearwater colours do make the phone stand out from the crowd especially the Plum with its rich purple finish really catching the eye. The vice president of design at HTC, Scott Croyle summarises the design ethos behind this model perfectly by quoting "HTC Rhyme represents an entirely new approach, based on recognition that there is a substantial group of consumers who want their phones to be more personal and complimentary to every moment of their day". To complement this design HTC are also releasing some accessories for this phone including the Rhyme Charm and the Rhyme Docking Station. The Charm is a discreet method of alerting the user to incoming calls and messages whilst the phone is buried in a handbag. This is done via a small light emitting cube on the end of a chord which can dangle from your bag and can also be used to quickly pull your phone out without needing to search around with your hand. The docking station provides a simple and attractive method of charging your phone whilst also enabling it to be used as a bedside alarm clock.

In terms of technical specification the HTC Rhymeis not going to challenge the heavyweights of the smartphone world but it does a great job of providing an experience comparable with some of the better mid range phones such as the HTC Desire S. The model offers a powerful 1Ghz processor that is partnered by an impressive 768MB of RAM which means the phone is well geared up for any future shifts in technology. In terms of operating system the phone offers Android 2.3.4 which offers a huge selection of content for download and an attractive series of homescreens. Perhaps the biggest attraction of the OS on this model is the Sense user interface that the phone uses which makes a host of everyday operations much easier. The prime example of this is the excellent Friendstream function which collaborates all of your social networking accounts together and presents you one timeline containing all of the updates that you need. Camera wise the Rhyme offers a good quality 5 mega pixel facility which is perfect for capturing all manner of different snaps with the results looking great on the phones 3.7 inch display.

The HTC Rhyme is certainly an eye catching phone. The model is unlikely to have the likes of the iPhone 4S and the HTC Evo 3D worried but there are a huge number of lower specification models that should be wary of this colourful newcomer.

The HTC Rhyme and the HTC Desire S are available now.
