British Esports Association appoints Natacha Jones as Student Esports Coordinator

June 4th, London: Natacha Jones, experienced esports producer and observer, has joined the British Esports Association.

She takes on the role of student esports coordinator and will be primarily developing the British Esports Championships for schools and colleges, working alongside school projects lead Tom Dore.

The British Esports Association has recently completed its pilot Championships project and will now be taking learnings from that to implement the full Championships from this September for the academic year 2018/19. A full feedback report will be published over the coming weeks.

Over the past few years, Natacha has built up some impressive experience within UK esports. She was project manager for the King of the North gaming festival, where she was responsible for securing sponsors, partners and funding for the event, and president of the University of Manchester Esports Society.

She has also been working as a freelance esports observer and producer, having worked with GAME, the National University Esports League (NUEL) and King of the North. Natacha has also looked after player management for the ESL stage at EGX 2017 and at the Clash Royale Crown Championship World Finals in London.

Since January, Natacha has held the role of Twitch Student Program Manager at the NUEL, tracking the success of a pilot scheme for UK universities.

Natacha will be working with the British Esports Association for two and a half days each week, and will continue her work as a freelance esports producer and observer, and her with work the NUEL.

British Esports chair Andy Payne OBE said: “Natacha is a fantastic hire with a strong background in UK esports. We’re looking forward to growing the British Esports Championships with her and we’re delighted to have her on board.”

Natacha Jones added: “My roles over the last few years have been focused on university esports, so I’m excited to expand my horizons to include colleges and schools.

“I want to make sure that future esports talent will get a head-start through the British Esports Championships, which will give them the skills and experience to succeed in the industry.”
