Fred. Olsen is crowned eight-times winner of ‘Best Ocean Cruise Line Operator for Groups’ in the ‘2019 Group Travel Awards’

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has once again been crowned Best Ocean Cruise Line Operator for Groups’ by readers of ‘Group Travel Organiser’ magazine, in the ‘2019 Group Travel Awards’. This is the eighth year that Fred. Olsen has won this coveted award, having held it for a record seven consecutive years previously.

Ellie Fulcher – Sales Manager, Groups & Affinity for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“We would like to thank everyone who voted for us and we very much appreciate the support and loyalty of all the group travel organisers with whom we work so closely. We are delighted to win this award again, after holding it for a record seven years in a row previously.

“When it was announced that Fred. Olsen had won the ‘Best Ocean Cruise Line Operator for Groups’ award this time around, I was very privileged to be working on board our cruise ship, Boudicca, which many will recognise from the extensive TV coverage of The Royal British Legion’s ‘D-Day 75 Voyage of Remembrance’. We set sail from Dover on 2nd June 2019, taking 250 D-Day veterans, plus their carers and companions, to commemorations in the UK and Normandy, France.

“I was proud that we worked on the arrangements for this exceptional, poignant full-ship group charter with our business partner, Arena Travel, acting on behalf of The Royal British Legion. Indeed, whilst on board Boudicca, I was delighted to hear that Arena were also named fellow award-winners, and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on their well-deserved success.”

Fred. Olsen’s Jamie Rudland – Account Manager, Groups & Affinity, Zoe Murphy – Sales Executive, Groups & Affinity, and Kirstie Shanks – Sales Assistant, Groups & Affinity, were awarded the prestigious ‘Best Ocean Cruise Line Operator for Groups’ trophy by Guest Presenter, Michaela Strachan, along with Sarah Jeffery from ‘Group Travel Organiser’ magazine, at a glittering ceremony held at London’s Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel on 7th June 2019.

Fred. Olsen beat off stiff competition from the other cruise lines nominated in this important category: Cruise and Maritime Voyages, P&O, Norwegian Cruise Line, Emerald Waterways and Voyages to Antiquity.

Fred. Olsen is committed to offering groups the very best, tailor-made cruise experience, whatever their appetites and interests. Fred. Olsen's bespoke groups service appeals to those travelling in a group, with family or friends, or with their local club, association or society, and Fred. Olsen can also offer an entire ship for an exclusive full-ship group.

In 2019/20, Fred. Olsen’s fleet of four smaller, more intimately-sized ocean ships – Balmoral, Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch – along with its river cruise addition, Brabant, will be visiting over 200 destinations around the globe, from the convenient UK departure ports of Dover, Southampton, Liverpool, Newcastle and Edinburgh (Rosyth), as well as offering an extensive fly-cruise programme.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
