Arrests made in Portsmouth robbery

We’re investigating a robbery in Prince Albert Road at about 8.30pm last night (11 December).

A 31-year-old man was sat in his car in Devonshire Avenue, near the junction of Eastney Road, when he saw a group of youths approaching. As the man was counting cash, before planning to go into BetFred, he drove around the corner to Prince Albert Road.

He was parked outside of the Eastfield Hotel when five black youths from the same group approached him.

It is alleged that they asked the victim for a light before kicking and hitting him over the head and stole an iPhone 6 and £600 in cash.

It is believed the youths had a knife, a hammer and some wood.

The youths were seen to get into a Ford Fiesta and a Subara.

A 15-year old boy and two 16-year-old boys, all from Portsmouth, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
