​​Did you see collision in Hope Street, Portsmouth, between a car and a cyclist?

We are appealing for witnesses and information following a collision between a car and a cyclist on the A3 Hope Street, Portsmouth, which left the cyclist with serious injuries.

The female cyclist, who is in her 50s and from Portsmouth, sustained a serious head injury. She was initially taken to the Queen Alexander Hospital before being transferred to Southampton General Hospital.

The incident occurred between 8.30pm and 8.37pm on December 18, at the junction with Mile End Road on the ABC Roundabout. A grey Renault Megane was in collision with the cyclist, who was riding a mountain bike.

We would particularly like to speak to a motorist who stopped to help. This person left the scene before police arrived. The driver was not in any way involved in the collision but may be able to provide vital evidence.
