Police make an arrest in connection with Fareham murder investigation

Police investigating the murder of 29-year-old Michael Deary at Omaha Close in Fareham have made an arrest.

A 17-year-old from Gosport has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.

Michael’s body was located in his flat in Omaha Close around 12.40pm on Monday 20 August.

Detective Superintendent Scott Clarke said: “We’d like to thank the community for all of their support so far, particularly the residents of Omaha Close.

“We’re continuing to speak to people who knew Michael or lived nearby to understand his activity towards the end of last week.

Fareham District Chief Inspector Sharon Woolrich said: “We understand that this is concerning for some of our residents. We’ve been visiting people living in Omaha Close with the housing provider to make sure we address any specific concerns in partnership.
