London Sport's Sport Tech Hub extends partnership with Loughborough University London

Sport Tech Hub and Loughborough University London will continue using the power of tech innovation to increase participation levels in physical activity and sport after extending their partnership until 2023.

Through the partnership with Sport Tech Hub, Loughborough University London (LUL) share their expertise and guidance to ventures through workshops, mentoring, events and pitching opportunities.

Sport Tech Hub also has access to the future leaders of sports innovation, through LUL's Collaborative Project, Digital Skills programme, Talent+ programme, and mentoring opportunities.

Loughborough University London have been a long-term supporter of start-ups in London Sport's Sport Tech Hub community, as well as those taking part in their Innovation programme.

LUL have exposed start-ups to their network of sports leaders, expert advice, and research of the physical activity, sports, and technology sector.

Jennie Rivett, Head of Consultancy and Partnerships, London Sport:

“We are really pleased to announce our partnership extension with Loughborough University London, who have been such a valuable support to Sport Tech Hub over the past four years.

"Ventures in our community will continue to benefit from their academic expertise in the sport tech space and to learn from their innovation students”

Ben Cole, Head of Strategic Projects and Future Space, Loughborough University London:

“We at Loughborough University London are delighted to be able to continue working with Sport Tech Hub and support the start-ups connected to Sport Tech Hub.

"We are passionate about enabling companies and individuals to grow and succeed.”

The Sport Tech Hub and Loughborough University London partnership has seen some exciting joint initiatives take place in recent weeks including joint sponsorship at the London Sport Awards.

Sport Tech Hub together with Loughborough University London are honoured to sponsor The Tech and Digital Award, highlighting how technology innovations can deliver real societal value.

The Award celebrates those who have taken a creative new approach and/or championed innovation in the physical activity and sport sector and are using it to have a positive impact in London.

Last month, members of the Sport Tech Hub community joined forces with Loughborough University London, to pitch to their Sport Business and Innovation MSc students.

Univarsity
, TeamSportz and Force for Good pitched to a cohort of masters students to show the students about the latest sports tech, innovation, and product development.

The event helped our ventures get feedback on their product, an opportunity to practice their pitch, and potentially find their next consumer.

Sport Tech Hub believe that technology and sport, together, have the power to change lives. The start-ups that come through the doors of Sport Tech Hub can, we believe, point us towards a brighter future for physical activity.
