Appeal for information following injury shooting in Walton

Detectives are appealing for information following an injury shooting in Walton this evening, Wednesday 23 January.

At around 6.10pm, armed police and the ambulance service were called to Rice Lane to reports that a man in his 20s had been shot in the leg. He has been taken to hospital where his injuries are not described as serious and his condition is stable.

Officers will be in the area thisĀ eveningĀ to carry out forensic, CCTV and witness enquiries to establish the circumstances, and to provide reassurance in the community.

Rice Lane is currently closed at the junction with Queens Drive and the junction with Cavendish Drive and road users are asked to avoid the area.
