All welcome to attend celebration for 10k Speyside Way upgrade

A CELEBRATORY event is being held in Moray to mark the upgrading of 10km of the Speyside Way as part of the £810,000 Speyside Low Carbon Hub project.

The stretch of path has been resurfaced, drainage has been improved, four timber bridges have been replaced, a suspension bridge has been repaired, and new fencing erected.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend the official re-opening between Craigellachie and Carron on 30 November.

There will be a led walk with Rothes Walking Group, leaving from Fiddich car park, to Aberlour tearoom, or a family-friendly led cycle ride with Outfit Moray, leaving at 10am from Aberlour tearoom, to Carron and back. Between noon and 1.30pm there will be soup, tea, coffee and cake provided for everyone to enjoy at the tearoom in Aberlour.

The Speyside Low Carbon Hub project has received funding as part of the Low Carbon Travel and Transport Challenge Fund, established by Transport Scotland from funds awarded under European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 programme and Transport Scotland funding. Projects are designed to enable everyday functional journeys to be taken by walking, cycling and public transport and to support an increased proportion on ultra-low emission vehicles on Scotland’s roads.
