Fochabers library to host free Bridgescapes talk

Fochabers Library will play host to author Bruce Keith for an illustrated talk on his new book, Bridgescapes, next week.

A year after the opening of the new Queensferry Crossing across the Forth, Bruce will talk about how bridges represent significant engineering achievements, as well as and forming part of Scotland’s cultural, historic and landscape heritage.

The book celebrates the contribution that Scottish engineers have made to bridges around the globe - and will include plenty of local examples. He will also speak about his experience as a writer, and the challenges and opportunities it presented.

The talk is free of charge and will take place at Milne’s Learning Centre (Fochabers Library) on Thursday 6 September at 7pm.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
