Future of Elgin's transport network to be discussed
COUNCILLORS in Moray will this week discuss the future of Elgin’s transport network.
Members will decide on Wednesday whether to approve the Elgin Transport Strategy which, if implemented, could see improvements like the widening of footpaths and cycle lanes, junction improvements, redesign of Elgin bus station and the creation of a new railway crossing for vehicles.
The recommendations within the strategy are split into short, medium and long term plans, and are designed to develop the network in line with Elgin growing.
Public drop-in sessions, questionnaires, social media and stakeholder consultation events were all used to gather feedback from those who travel within or through Elgin, as well as from developers and community bodies.
The meeting will be broadcast live from 9.30am via the Moray Council website and the draft transport strategy is also available online.
