Press release -

It's definitely Christmas! Joyous festivities with Rosenthal TAC and Junto

Christmas time quite natural! - An individual table setting in soft colours and with uncomplicated materials to the finest TAC porcelain and strong Junto stoneware by Rosenthal. Finely coordinated in colour and shape, these are the perfect components for a stylish and cozy festive meal with family and friends.

Rosenthal - TAC / Design: Walter Gropius

One of the cult classics of Rosenthal studio-line is the "TAC 1" tea service by Walter Gropius (1883 - 1969). The dishes by the visionary architect and founder of the Bauhaus were premiered in 1969, two years after the father of the International Style had signed a contract for his first project in porcelain. Once introduced, the "TAC 1" tea service quickly became the studio-line model with the legendary success. Not only was it created by teamwork according to Bauhaus tradition but also its reduced formal idiom, with the plain hemisphere for the teapot and cup and the play with triangles and squares, suggests the Bauhaus style to this day.

Rosenthal - TAC Stripes 2.0

The Stripes 2.0 line design is an homage to Walter Gropius, reinterpreted with a contemporary feel. A new modern, urban and simplistic design is brought to the classic TAC in mix and match, with matte and shiny surfaces, shimmering metallic parts and coloured glass. The design is supplemented by colour and façade elements taken from the Rosenthal am Rothbühl porcelain factory, which was designed by Walter Gropius.

Rosenthal - Junto

As a harmonious contrast to the fine porcelain, Junto also features the most important pieces of the collection in strong, earthy stoneware with a special reactive glaze. The charm of this unusual glaze lies in the individual appearance of each item. The dark stoneware in Slate Grey, unfolding as a strong, natural tone that makes every festive dinner a special treat both for the eyes and the palate.

Rosenthal - Hop / Design: Sebstian Herkner

One of the stars of the international design scene has created a new vase for Rosenthal this year: Sebastian Herkner. His current designs Collana and Falda (both from 2014) are now joined by another extravagant object: Hop. It stands out for its asymmetrically layered rings, which remind one of Michelin men or sculptures by Tony Cragg.
