Press release -

Stroke Association invites Lincolnshire to enjoy Sip for Stroke

The Stroke Association is inviting people in Lincolnshire to join them for a Sip for Stroke event, to celebrate the launch of Action on Stroke Month 2015.

Organised in partnership with Stroke Association volunteer Paula Smejka, the event will take place on Wednesday 06 May from 1-3pm at The Venue in Navenby.

Local residents can enjoy a piece of cake and a cuppa at the afternoon tea, all while helping to raise vital funds to support those affected by stroke.

Throughout the afternoon, Stroke Association staff will also be on hand to carry out blood pressure readings, as high blood pressure is the most important risk factor for stroke.

Joanne Burr from the Stroke Association, said: “We’d love for people in Lincolnshire to come along to enjoy the Sip for Stroke event and help raise vital funds in the process. These funds will ensure that the Stroke Association can continue its work supporting stroke survivors and their families. We’re looking forward to putting the kettle on and enjoying a cuppa with a difference.”

If you’d like to attend the Sip for Stroke event, please contact Paula Smejka on 07742 023 691.

This year’s Action on Stroke Month will see communities come together to help the Stroke Association conquer stroke. From baking purple cupcakes to wearing purple socks and everything in between, the charity is calling on people to Make May Purple for Stroke.
