Where: Gog Magog Golf Club, Shelford Bottom, Cambridge, CB22 3AB

When: 12:30, Thursday 26 July 2018

Tickets: £38 (includes a two-course lunch, wine and coffee)

Award-winning actress Anita Dobson is set to visit Cambridge on Thursday 26 July for a special one-off event to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust.

The Sick Children’s Trust runs free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation supporting families with seriously ill children in hospital. Two of the charity’s ‘Homes from Home’ are located in Cambridge, supporting families with children undergoing specialist treatment at both Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie Hospitals.

Anita Dobson, who is Vice President of The Sick Children’s Trust, will talk about her extensive 45 year career in TV, theatre, film and radio over a two-course luncheon organised by the charity’s Cambridge Fundraising Committee. Tickets cost £38 and all proceeds will go towards running the charity’s Cambridge ‘Homes from Home’ – Acorn and Chestnut Houses. Susan Evans, Secretary at Cambridge Fundraising Committee, says:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming Anita to Cambridge for this exclusive lunchtime event. On the day, guests can expect a two-course lunch with wine and coffee while enjoying Anita’s entertaining company and hearing all about her exciting career.

“We’re so grateful to Anita for giving up her time to come along to the Gog Magog Golf Club to raise money for Acorn and Chestnut Houses. The Sick Children’s Trust relies entirely on voluntary donations to run its ‘Homes from Home’, so the money raised from the event will make a huge difference to many families whose lives are thrown into complete turmoil when their child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or involved in a serious accident.

“Tickets are on sale now and we expect them to sell fast! If you would like to attend, please get in touch as soon as possible.”

For tickets, please email the committee on sctcambridge@gmail.com to secure your place and send a stamped addressed envelope with your ticket requirements, contact details and cheque made payable to CFCSCT to: 1 The Manor, Herringswell, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP28 6SH.
