Tork EasyCubeTM triumphs at Family Attraction Expo

Tork EasyCubeTM has beaten off stiff competition to win this year’s prestigious Family Attraction Expo Innovation Award.

And this achievement highlights the crucial role played by cleaning in theme parks and other visitor attractions.

Tork EasyCube is a facility management software that uses connected devices to provide real-time information on cleaning and washroom refill needs. The data can be accessed from anywhere by janitorial staff via a smartphone or tablet.

The system allows attractions to improve their cleaning efficiency and achieve significant customer satisfaction improvements while also helping to motivate their staff.

“We are delighted to have won this award,” said Tork European Marketing Manager Anna Königson Koopmans. “The fact that we were up against manufacturers of state-of-the-art virtual reality solutions – and still won - goes to show that cleanliness and hygiene are considered to be of paramount importance in any visitor attraction.”

Cleaning staff have their work cut out to keep a close check on washroom cleaning needs in large attractions spread out over a wide geographical area. As a result it is all too common for dispensers to run out between maintenance checks. Empty dispensers and out-of-service cubicles can result in long queues and guest dissatisfaction.

“Tork EasyCube eliminates the need for staff to physically visit each washroom to check on cleaning needs and supplies of toilet paper, soap and hand towels,” said Anna. “Theme parks all over Europe are reporting improved efficiency, more motivated staff and higher levels of customer satisfaction after installing the system.”

The Family Attraction Innovation Award celebrates the industry's most outstanding example of innovation through equipment, products or services. The winner was announced at Family Attraction Expo which took place on November 7-8 at the NEC Birmingham.

Other Innovation Award finalists included manufacturers of ski machines, virtual reality booths and augmented reality attractions.

“The competition was fierce but we are gratified that the organisers realised that no attraction can run successfully if its washrooms are unhygienic or understocked,” said Anna.
