Corona Virus / Covid-19 and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu UPDATE

United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association (UKBJJA) updated advice for individuals:

Following the prime minister's announcement on 16 March that all non-essential contact be avoided, we advise all of our members to stop training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu until further notice.

Our number one priority is to keep our members and their families and contacts safe and to help the wider community by limiting physical contact between individuals. Sadly, there are few sports that involve more physical contact than  BJJ and it is with a heavy heart that we make this announcement.

However, physical activity is incredibly important to everyone's health and wellbeing and we want to help our members to stay fighting fit during the layoff - we will, in association with our member clubs,  the BJJ Viral Support Network and the wider BJJ community, be seeking to share and promote resources to help you stay active until BJJ training can resume.

As always, we will be monitoring the situation and following advice from the GovernmentPublic Health EnglandNHS and Sport England and will be updating our recommendations as the situation develops.

United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association (UKBJJA) updated advice for clubs:

This is an extremely challenging time for BJJ clubs and gyms and we want to do whatever we can to support our member clubs and ensure they stay open as viable businesses. Although we are not able to offer direct financial support, we will be sharing as much information as we can (financial, legal and sport/training related) to help our members weather the storm and come out the other side.

Please check back regularly for updates and get in touch if you have any questions or would like to help out.
