International Women's Day 2019: UKBJJA launches Just Roll With It

To commemorate International Women's Day 2019, the United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association (UKBJJA) is launching a major social media campaign to get more women active in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).

The UKBJJA are encouraging all women to just roll with it, a bid to encourage women to forget their hang ups and not letting anything hold them back from the sport they love.

They have created a video focusing on older women in the sport, these are called masters women, the video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/TubruOPr690

The campaign will consist of videos and posts throughout the day to the UKBJJA FacebookTwitter and Instagram accounts, emails to the UKBJJA membership and through the UKBJJA Unstoppable Girl channels.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a sport that is suitable for all ages, with positive benefits for fitness, self confidence and self defence. The focus of the International Women's Day 2019 campaign in particular is to encourage more women over 30 to take up the sport.

To get involved, please follow and share on Social Media or contact your local BJJ club.

The UKBJJA (www.ukbjja.org) is a not-for profit organisation which aims to provide a governance structure for the martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, that promotes and develops the sport while allowing individual clubs and practitioners the space and freedom to practice the martial art in the way they enjoy. The UKBJJA is currently in the final stages of submitting a full application for assessment to be recognised by Sport England as the governing body for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the UK.

The UKBJJA was formed in 2013, and the association’s goal is to foster the development of BJJ at elite, community and grassroots levels, raising the profile of the sport but also providing pathways for development and involvement across communities in the UK.
