Auto Windscreens has announced its support of a Chesterfield performing arts school and college which has produced stars for TV, top touring and West End shows.
As part of its support the automotive glazing services company, which is based on Storforth Lane in Chesterfield, has provided tee-shirts for the 30strong DTA production and teaching team as well as gym and crash mats for its performers to use during rehearsals and shows.
Directions Theatre Arts (DTA), based on Sheffield Road, was established in Chesterfield in 1994 by owners and Principal's Geoff and Julie Cox in response to a lack of facilities for young people interested in performing arts and musical theatre. It is now the region's leading performing arts school and college, training students in musical theatre.
Commenting on Auto Windscreens' support of DTA Managing Director Abu-Haris Shafi said: "Auto Windscreens is delighted to be on board with Directions Theatre Arts. We recognise how important it is to nurture and support homegrown talent and DTA has been doing this successfully for years.
"Through the direction of Geoff and Julie and their team, the young people involved with DTA help put a positive spotlight on Chesterfield. DTA's commitment to young people and the arts cannot be underestimated in terms of the positive message and benefits it delivers to young people and the wider community."
DTA Principal Geoff Cox added: "The fantastic help we are being offered by Auto Windscreens will only enhance our huge charity fundraising schedule around the Derbyshire area. We help local and national charities annually while at the same time showing the general public the amazing abilities and talents of DTA students in performance."
Thousands of young people, aged from three to 20 years old, have now passed through the doors of DTA, which has links to the prestigious Trinity College, London. It provides teaching and industry-recognised qualifications in dance, drama and singing.

About the RAC
First formed in 1897, the RAC has been looking after the needs of its members and championing the interests of drivers for more than 120 years.
Today it has more than eight million members and is one of the UK’s most progressive motoring organisations, providing services for both private and business motorists. Whether it's roadside assistance, insurance, buying a used car, vehicle inspections and checks, legal services or up-to-the-minute traffic and travel information – the RAC offers a solution for all motoring needs. The RAC is committed to making motoring easier, safer, more affordable and more enjoyable for drivers and road users.
The RAC is the motorist’s champion and campaigns to support the interests of its members and UK drivers at a national level. This includes voicing concerns about the increasing cost of motoring, particularly the price of fuel and the high level of tax levied on it, advancing levels of road safety, and supporting the needs of all drivers, from young to old.
The RAC’s annual Report on Motoring – first published in 1989 – is one of a kind and provides a clear insight into the concerns and issues facing today’s motorists.
For the very latest news on UK fuel prices, check RAC Fuel Watch. It provides a comprehensive guide to the latest UK unleaded petrol and diesel prices – both at the wholesale level and at the pump - and tracks these prices daily to help drivers check if the price they pay to fill up is a fair one.
