CIA Insurance encourages customers to carry out an HPI Check

CIA Insurance is offering its customers a unique service ¿ a direct link to HPI for a history check when buying any second-hand motorcycle.

CIA Insurance is offering its customers a unique service - a direct link to HPI for a history check when buying any second-hand motorcycle.
CIA Insurance has joined up with HPI, whose database allows you to research the background of the machine you are planning on buying to check if it has outstanding finance, is registered as stolen, or has been written-off. The check also provides you with the vehicle description (as registered with the DVLA) and advice on how to buy a bike safely.
The HPI Check costs just £19.99 which is a small sum of money for peace of mind regarding your new machine.
CIA Insurance has chosen the HPI Check because it is established as the UK's primary source of vehicle information on all road-registered vehicles, and offers one of the most comprehensive provenance checks available in the UK. With 1 in 10 bikes checked by HPI being written-off; 1 in 20 showing a plate change; and 1 in 22 having outstanding finance against it, it makes sense to know exactly what you're buying, before you buy it.
HPI has long established relationships with data providers such as the Police, DVLA, Finance Companies, Association of British Insurers (ABI), Customs & Excise, Local Government and the Motor Trade and continues to be a pioneer in the vehicle provenance market.
CIA Insurance's Director, Eliot Blundell said: "CIA Insurance wants to give its customers value for money and peace of mind when buying a second-hand motorcycle, the HPI Check will reveal if a machine has a hidden history."
Visit CIA Insurance on-line at www.cia-insurance.co.uk and get your new bike checked by HPI.

About HPI:
Originally established in 1938, HPI Limited is a primary source of vehicle information for the UK motor industry and motoring consumer, which since August 2004 has been owned by Norwich Union. HPI encompasses both the HPI database of all UK road registered vehicle descriptions and histories, and the National Mileage Register which holds in excess of 125 million mileage readings.

Together, HPI and NMR represent the UK's largest vehicle information source, combining and interpreting data from government agencies, industry bodies, private organisations, the police and the general public. Registering with HPI helps companies to protect their financial interests in motor vehicles and a wide range of other mobile assets. HPI Checks give purchasers instant confirmation of whether vehicles are correctly described, known to be subject to outstanding finance or serious accident damage, or recorded as stolen or "clocked".

'HPI' and the HPI logo are registered trademarks of HPI Limited.
(1) All prices include VAT and are correct as of 1 January 2006

About the RAC

First formed in 1897, the RAC has been looking after the needs of its members and championing the interests of drivers for more than 120 years.

Today it has more than eight million members and is one of the UK’s most progressive motoring organisations, providing services for both private and business motorists. Whether it's roadside assistanceinsurancebuying a used carvehicle inspections and checkslegal services or up-to-the-minute traffic and travel information – the RAC offers a solution for all motoring needs. The RAC is committed to making motoring easier, safer, more affordable and more enjoyable for drivers and road users.

The RAC is the motorist’s champion and campaigns to support the interests of its members and UK drivers at a national level. This includes voicing concerns about the increasing cost of motoring, particularly the price of fuel and the high level of tax levied on it, advancing levels of road safety, and supporting the needs of all drivers, from young to old.

The RAC’s annual Report on Motoring – first published in 1989 – is one of a kind and provides a clear insight into the concerns and issues facing today’s motorists.

For the very latest news on UK fuel prices, check RAC Fuel Watch. It provides a comprehensive guide to the latest UK unleaded petrol and diesel prices – both at the wholesale level and at the pump - and tracks these prices daily to help drivers check if the price they pay to fill up is a fair one.
