Press release -

Borough’s ‘green’ teams seek volunteers

Rochdale Borough Council’s Countryside Rangers and the area’s Friends Groups have joined forces to host an exhibition to highlight their work and encourage people to volunteer.

The exhibition is running from Monday 16 December to Friday 3 January 2014 at Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre.

Councillor Jacqui Beswick, Rochdale Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Place and Regulation, said “The many achievements by both the Countryside Rangers and volunteers from the borough’s Friends Groups have enabled the beauty of the borough to continue to grow and shine. This is a perfect opportunity to learn more about what they do and visitors can even sign up to join them.”

The exhibition is free-of-charge and there will be an opportunity to find out more information about the groups and how to join them.

These include ‘Friends of Balderstone`, ‘Spotlight on Falinge` and ‘Norden Jubilee Parks’, who have displays set up to celebrate their work and entice new members.

The exhibition is open Friday to Tuesday from 10am to 3.30pm but will be closed each Wednesday and Thursday.
