Press release -

Boroughwide libraries in Digital skills employment drive

Rochdale Borough libraries in an exciting new partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions are now providing monthly jobs and skills information sessions for local residents.

The ‘Digital Skills for Jobs’ events have been organised in order to provide adults with the type of professional guidance which will help them gain employment.

Councillor Neil Emmott, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Neighbourhoods:

“These skills sessions offer an excellent opportunity for individuals to improve their levels of employability. They are run frequently across the borough, by a dedicated team of staff who are both approachable and knowledgeable. I encourage anyone who is struggling to find work, or requires job-specific guidance, to take advantage of this service.”

All of the sessions are delivered by a member of the library staff, an IT volunteer and a representative from the DWP and are perfectly suited to anyone who wishes to find out about searching and applying for jobs online, using email or developing their CV.
