Darnhill Library goes green for hospice

Darnhill Library joined in with the ‘Going Green for Springhill’ campaign by raising over £100 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Springhill Hospice.

Staff served cakes and tea as well as getting the attendees to dress up in anything green.

The ‘Go Green Day’ was celebrated throughout the borough with many businesses and schools getting involved. Rochdale Borough Council employee’s raised more than £500 in aid of the fundraising day.

Ann Jones, Senior Library and Information Assistant at Darnhill Library, said:

“Everyone said that they had a wonderful afternoon and asked for the recipes for some of the cakes that we made. It’s important to support local campaigns like the Go Green Day as Springhill Hospice is somewhere that most people in the borough know of someone who has been a resident there.”
