Press release -

Feel good with the family at Rochdale Central Library

Rochdale Central Library will be playing its part in next weekend’s Feel Good Festival by hosting two action packed family events.

Both events are completely free and there’s no need to book – so just pop along with your family and enjoy the entertainment.

On Friday 29 August, from 2-2.30pm the children’s area will be hosting a 'Jamboree Puppetry’s Pocket Puppet Theatre’.

Join esteemed Puppeteer Vicky Lomax as she retells the classic tale of the Three Billy Goats Gruff, but with a twist. This event is suitable for families with children up to the age of five.

If you miss the puppet theatre you can still take part in the Pandemonium Drumming Circle, between 11am and 12pm on Saturday 30 August. It’s a fun, exhilarating and accessible activity for all ages. No experience or equipment is required - all you need is your hands and an enthusiastic spirit!

Councillor Neil Emmott, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Neighbourhoods:

“Our libraries work tirelessly to promote the borough and support our residents, so it’s brilliant to see them taking part in such a community orientated festival.”

Make sure to also look out for the Rochdale Borough Libraries stall at this year’s festival. Come over to say hello and find out what’s going on in our libraries, including the forthcoming Rochdale Literature & Ideas Festival (24-26 October) www.rochdaleliteraturefestival.co.uk

Rochdale Feel Good Festival is staged on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August. There will be live music across a number of venues, cooking demonstrations and a festival market.
