Press release -

Get Healthy This Half Term

Families looking for a dose of fun this half term are being encouraged to attend the Library Health Roadshow, where they can take part in numerous activities designed to increase health awareness.

Bring along the family to a library near you, where a host of organisations will be showcasing their health services, alongside activities for the kids which include A BLENDER BIKE to make their own delicious, healthy smoothies.

Visiting a number of libraries from the 27-31 October, the roadshow will keep guests busy, informed and entertained and is an event which is not to be missed.

Councillor Neil Emmott, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Neighbourhoods:

“It’s vital that we encourage healthy living among our residents and, through the provision of this Health Roadshow, we offer the opportunity to give families practical advice in a fun, informative and relaxed environment.

“Families are always looking for time-fillers during half term, so I’d encourage them to attend one of these events, they certainly won’t regret it.”

Health organisations will provide information and advice about the services on offer throughout the borough and will give guests the chance to talk to professionals and receive further guidance on health issues.

Representatives from Asda will also be on hand to provide some nutritious bananas, as well as badges, leaflets and other resources.

The locations, dates and times can be found below:

·  Monday 27 October – Milnrow Library, 3-5pm
