Sew useful!

Sewers of all abilities are being reeled in to help them save money, have fun and help the environment all in one go!

Tomorrow, (Thursday 21 November), at 2pm in Rochdale Central Library there will be a free sewing workshop aimed at people of all abilities to do simple stitching, basic alterations and even
up-cycling.

Councillor Jacqui Beswick, Rochdale Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Place and Regulation
said: “This is a great opportunity to learn how to upcycle clothes or make minor alterations to help clothes last longer.”

The FREE sewing workshop has been organised byRecycle for Greater Manchester in partnership with Rochdale Borough Council and Junk Shop in Manchester. Helping those who have sewn their pockets tighter in preparation for Christmas or just fancy giving something new a go.

Learn how to do:

  • simple stitching
  • basic alterations
  • up-cycling
  • customising
  • embellishing.

Turn your existing wardrobe into something truly unique or the class will provide you with clothing and textiles to design something new, just for you!
