Rosenthal’s Squall vase wins Good Design Award 2016

With his Squall design for Rosenthal, French designer Cédric Ragot has successfully captured motion in all its dynamic range and transformed it into an extraordinary porcelain vase. The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in partnership with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studieshave now officially recognised its value as an outstanding new consumer product by presenting it with theinternationally renowned Good Design Award 2016. Squall is reminiscent of a whirlwind or vortex, whose elemental force is cast and immortalised in porcelain, and follows on from the highly successful Fast vase, which was also designed by Ragot for Rosenthal.

The Good Design Award was founded in 1950 and is the oldest design prize in the world.More than 900 products from 46 countries are among this year’s winners, and this is the sixteenth time that Rosenthal has received the Award.
