Seapilot charts for Swedish waters updated with high-resolution Hydrographica cartography

Highly detailed, up-to-the-minute charting, available in the user-friendly Seapilot app, opens up new vistas for mariners in infamously hard-to-navigate sailing grounds

Fareham, UK, 2 July 2020 – Boaters navigating the complex channels and archipelagos for which Swedish waters are renowned will be delighted to discover that detailed, high-resolution charts are now available through Raymarine’s SeapilotTM app, using cartography from partner firm Hydrographica.

There are numerous benefits for all who sail in Sweden, particularly captains and crew on board sports fishing boats, cruising power yachts and cruising sailboats. Firstly, Hydrographica’s charts, produced with permission from the Swedish Marine Administration and Swedish Armed Forces, are substantially more detailed and accurate than existing charts, relying upon the most up-to-date, extensive surveys to deliver cartography that can safely be relied upon.

Additionally, the Hydrographica charts provide data for a range of areas, which were previously considered impossible to navigate without local knowledge. Equipped with Hydrographica’s comprehensive mapping, delivered intuitively via Seapilot, sailors can select locations to explore and moor well in advance – even whilst still engaged in passage planning.

Another advantage of the insight offered by the combination of Hydrographica’s charts and the Seapilot app is that leisure sailors can steer a safe and efficient course to uniquely scenic environments in the outer Swedish archipelagos, rich with rarely-glimpsed fauna and wildlife.

The Seapilot app, which includes a host of features including weather forecasting and routing, AIS and social boating functionality, in addition to intuitive navigation, is available as a free download or on subscription for the Premium Service. Existing Seapilot cartography subscriptions for Sweden have now been upgraded to include Hydrographica charts.

Tech Tip for Seapilot users: Customers with older Hydrographica charts should uninstall all Hydrographica charts before updating. Please ensure that you have 2GB free storage space on your device. For some devices it may be necessary to reinstall the app before updating.
