YANMAR Brings 50 Years of Engine Innovation to Life for US Boat Show Visitors

US Sailboat Show (Annapolis), October 14-18, Tent A 31-35

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 27-31, Stand 1218

YANMAR is bringing half a century of engine innovation to life for US boat show visitors this fall as part of the company’s special celebrations to mark 50 years of recreational marine solutions.

Attendees at the US Sailboat Show in Annapolis this week and at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will have a unique opportunity to view the first ever purpose-built engine for recreational marine use, the PMX 1 cylinder, alongside YANMAR’s line-up of class-leading, efficient, and quiet engines of today.

As well as a chance to compare the models and explore the progression in engine technology, users can also share their YANMAR stories throughout October and November using #yanmar50, tagging @yanmarmarine on Instagram or @yanmarmarineinternational on Facebook, for an opportunity to receive one of 50 YANMAR gift packages and one GoPro Hero Black.

The 50th commemoration celebrates the milestone development of the PMX in 1971 in response to an increasing interest in pleasure boating, honoring YANMAR’s commitment to more than a century of diesel innovation and the delivery of application-driven solutions.

YANMAR also brought the first marine engine for fishing boats to the market nearly 75 years ago and became the first diesel engine manufacturer to receive the Deming Prize for Total Quality Management in 1968.

Setting new standards from the beginning and continuing in the present day, YANMAR simultaneously delivers best-in-class quality, technology, and sustainable solutions, with a key vision to not only meet, but exceed, emission standards, while providing purpose-built solutions for all applications.

Martijn Oggel, Global Sales Manager: “We are proud to celebrate 50 years of providing recreational marine customers with purpose-built solutions, confident that we are best positioned to continue delivering the most trusted, advanced engines for decades ahead. YANMAR has always led the way with industry-leading and award-winning technology, breaking new ground in low emissions and reliability. With this campaign, we want to demonstrate why our engines are the most proven, premium units in the world, showing how our 50 years of recreational marine solutions has enhanced the enjoyment of boating and contributed to the advancement of the marine industry.”

YANMAR’s complete line-up of sailboat and powerboat engines is expanding with the recent launches of the 6LF and 6LT series.

Visit YANMAR at the US Sailboat Show (Annapolis) and Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
