Savex ESL Wins Green Award at Energy Show

To add to the Environmental Technology Award the company won in 2007, they pick up this years Green Award at the Energy 'Buying & Supply' Excellence Awards at London's Langham Hotel on Thursday 25th. November.

Eric Osborne the CEO of Savex ESL Limited received the award from Joanna Watchman, Director of the Energy Show for the Savex Cover Plate and when doing so thanked the judges and sponsors for their kind appreciation of the products advantages.

The Cover Plate upgrades fluorsecent lighting fittings making it possible to save 45% to 55% on energy bills with a simple installation of totally new drive gear. The judges citation said, a 'brilliantly simple idea - retrofit means you don't need to replace all lighting - making signficant energy savings for all organisations - very wide scope of application due to extensive use of fluorescent tubes'. Mr. Osborne was anxious to add that the company regarded the Cover Plate as an upgrade rather than a retrofit product.

Use of the Cover Plate allows new installations to use the same wiring and existing unit site to replace wasteful T12 and T8 tubes with energy saving T5 models. Companies have reported savings in line with projections and improved light levels and conditions, because the new electronic ballasts do not strobe as do older fittings.

The Cover Plate also addresses the issue of old 1.8m (6 ft.) and 2.4m (8 ft.) tubes which by definition use additional energy because of older tubes and ancient magnetic/mechanical ballasts. The Cover Plate also overcame the Lighting Industry Federation objection to retrofit products because the current, with a new Cover Plate fitting, no longer went through the old ballast, adding to the safety and efficiency of the product. Customer comments and Contractor report together with test results and bench test data were taken into account by the judges.
