31 Days of a Gloriously Clear Mind with the help of Stoke Park

Are you GoingSoberForOctober? Or maybe in need of a gloriously clear mind to prepare for those long, cold winter months ahead? Then follow Stoke Park's plan which includes fresh drinks and food ideas to keep healthy, the best aromatherapy rituals to cleanse your mind and our top tips for hitting the gym.

Drinks

Why not replace those Friday-Night-Cocktail cravings for a Virgin Cocktail, the same deliciously refreshing taste, just non-alcoholic? Ask for an ‘Asian Passion’ in the Presidents Bar, a delightful mix of Lychee and Passion Fruit topped with Ginger Ale, served over ice if you fancy being adventurous, or maybe a ‘Summer Cup’, quite literally the taste of summer, with a blend of Strawberry purée, Elderflower cordial, fresh Lime and Soda served on ice, garnished with Cucumber, Mint and Berries.

If you fancy something slightly more substantial, you can enjoy one of Stoke Park’s scrumptious smoothies in San Marco, the Italian brasserie. The classic favourite of a Super Mixed Berry and Banana smoothie is a must.

Feel Good Foods

With winter on its way it’s easy to give in to all the heavy winter foods. However, it’s not hard to maintain your healthy summer glow with some lighter meals to feel good and look healthy.

Here are some of our favourite super food filled meals from San Marco which taste and look too good to eat;

Lunch menu

Char-grilled Tuna Steak “Nicoise”

with Mixed Peppers, Black Olives, Green Beans, Cherry Tomatoes, Boiled Egg and Red Onion

Smoked Salmon, Crayfish, Fennel and Avocado Salad

with Basil and Lemon Dressing

Goats Cheese, Baby Spinach, Rocket, Fig and Pistachio Salad

with Sun-blushed Tomato Dressing

You could even enjoy a delicious three course meal...here’s what we would choose;

Tuna Carpaccio

with a Mango and Chilli Salad and Coconut Shavings

Roast Fillet of Beef topped with a Parmesan and Pine Nut Crust,

served with Green Beans, Fondant Potato and Wild Mushroom Sauce

Fig and Apricot Tart

with Honey and Raisin Sauce and Vanilla Yoghurt Sorbet

Spa Serenity

To feel totally cleansed and rejuvenated, try a Facial or an Indian Head Massage to help release tension and stimulate vital energy centres, promoting a sense of well-being. Try this at the end of the 31 days to end your month with a gloriously clear mind.

The Essential Rose Facial harnesses the regenerative properties of rose to nourish, soften and hydrate all skin types, especially dry, delicate and finely textured complexions. This treatment helps boost your circulation and promote cell renewal and regeneration, leaving your skin radiant, dewy and delicately scented.

A scalp massage releases muscular tension and prepares you for your facial. Your skin is thoroughly cleansed, exfoliated and toned using our rose preparations, rich in pure regenerating damask rose, skin balancing geranium, and nourishing Jojoba oil. A traditional aromatherapy pressure point massage combined with lymphatic drainage releases facial tension and congestion. Then while a hydrating facial mask goes to work, your arms and hands are massaged and your skin is finally treated with a deeply moisturising facial oil and moisturiser.

Gym

With the short Autumn night’s drawing in, it’s hard to find the motivation to keep active or maintain your summer exercise regime. Here are a few tips on how to beat the blues;

Try something new: why not take this opportunity to take up a new hobby such as Hot Yoga. This type of Yoga uses Infrared Heating and works by transferring heat to surfaces and directly heating the body which in turn emits heat to the air – a lot like the sun. There are many benefits that come from this such as better circulation and increased energy, cardiovascular health, detoxification and skin beautification.

Find an exercise partner: finding a friend to exercise with can greatly increase your motivation to get outdoors or go to the gym. By setting targets together you can help each other achieve them whatever level you are.

Start a new exercise regime: the gym at Stoke Park offers a wide range of facilities for you to use, from Cardio Machines to a Spinning Room, so why not mix up your current routine and plan a variety of different exercises and classes. Perhaps try an Aqua Aerobics class in the 16m heated indoor pool or even take up adult swimming lessons again and enjoy a refreshing swim after a run, to increase your motivation.
