James Bond Turns 50

It is now 50 years since James Bond exploded onto our screens in 1962. In that time, he has been through an impressive array of gadgets, girls and goons. From exploding pens to glamourous gowns to steel-toothed giants, the magic of 007 has captivated audiences. Now, celebrate his Golden anniversary at one of Goldfinger’s iconic locations.

Dr. No was the screen legend’s first outing and took 007 to exotic locales in Jamaica but later films found Bond closer to home. 1964’s Goldfinger had Bond golfing with the titular villain, ostensibly in Kent but in reality filmed at Stoke Park, inspiring Sean Connery’s lifelong love of the game. Oddjob’s beheading of the statue took place on our front steps (also the scene of current Bond Daniel Craig’s shooting in Layer Cake). In 1997 our ballroom was transformed into a Hamburg hotel room to accommodate Pierce Brosnan and Teri Hatcher in 1997’s Tomorrow Never Dies.

Stoke Park is the perfect place to take your favourite Bond girl or your dashing 007 and there is no better time than now, with our Diamonds Are Forever package, commemorating both Bond, and of course H.M The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations!

Stoke Park is a 5 Star Hotel which incorporates a 27-Hole Championship Golf Course, 13 tennis courts, a state-of-the-art Gym, beautiful heritage walk, an award-winning Spa & salon as well as 3 Restaurants, including the supremely romantic fine dining restaurant, The Dining Room, there is plenty to explore at Stoke Park.
