Charity calls for fundraisers to face the Halloween heat

The Stroke Association is calling for daredevils to walk barefoot across burning coals and raise vital funds at a Halloween firewalk at Colchester FC football stadium.

Louise Everett, Regional Fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “The firewalk is set to be a thrilling experience and a great way to raise money for the Stroke Association. For those who are brave enough to take part, why not get into the life and soul of the event and take part in Halloween themed fancy dress?

“All the money raised by our firewalkers will go towards research into preventing strokes, and supporting thousands of stroke survivors and their families as they adjust to a life after stroke.”

Registration and training for the walk begins at 3:30pm. The firewalk costs £15 to register, and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £50 sponsorship.Discounts are available for groups of over eight people.
