Conquer Hot Coals to help Conquer Stroke

The Stroke Association is challenging people to face their fears and walk bare foot across a Firewalk. The heated fundraising event will take place in Millennium Square, Bristol on the 27th February 2015.

The challenge, which takes place at 8 o’clock in the evening, is a great mental and physical challenge for men and women, a truly unforgettable experience. Melissa Rimmell from the Stroke Association adds “We have run firewalks in other parts of the country and they are hugely popular. Many of the participants have loved the experience and signed up again!”

The firewalk involves walking bare foot across 20 feet of hot coals burning at 1200 degrees fahrenheit, which is hotter than the melting point of aluminium. Everyone who signs up will receive a one-hour training session from a Guinness World Record holder for the world's longest firewalk.

Registration for the event will be at 6:45pm with training beginning at 7:00pm. The fire walk will take place at 8:00pm.Registration is £20.Amy adds “Our registration fee helps us to cover the costs of the event, so that all the money raised through sponsorship can go towards helping stroke survivors and their families. There is a minimum sponsorship level of £50.
