Craig’s marathon effort for Stroke

Craig Davis, 30yrs old postman, from Uckfield, will be running the London Marathon for the Stroke Association this April. Craig is delighted to finally have a place after applying every year since he was 18 yrs old.

Craig has been inspired to do a charity challenge every year from a young age, following in the footsteps of his Mum and Uncle who have both ran in the Marathon before. Craig has chosen to run for the Stroke Association as they are the chosen charity for the Royal Mail.

Lily Heinemann Head of Corporate Responsibility and Community Investment at Royal Mail said:

‘The Virgin London Marathon is such an iconic event and a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for our Charity of the Year. We’re thrilled to have so many Royal Mail runners just like Craig supporting the Stroke Association and taking on the 26 miles of London streets to help us to raise vital funds in aid of Life after Stroke Grants.

A stroke happens in an instant but its effects can last a lifetime. The Stroke Association offers advice and support to stroke survivors and their families. Around 3,600 people have a stroke in Sussex every year, and nearly 33,000 people across the county are living with the effects of stroke.

Craig is hoping to raise £2,000 for the charity, which Royal Mail will match fund.  He is approaching local businesses and friends and Family for support.  You can sponsor him by visiting www.sponsorme.co.uk/craigdavis/london-marathon-2015.
