Crosland Heath Golf Club tees off for the Stroke Association
Crosland Heath Golf Club in Huddersfield has raised more than £3,600 for the Stroke Association, after holding a series of fundraising events for the charity.
The events were organised by Crosland Heath Golf Club Lady’s Captain, Jan Speight, who was inspired to raise funds for the Stroke Association after a close friend within the Golf Club passed away following a stroke.
Crosland Heath Golf Club has held a number of fundraising events throughout the year in support of the Stroke Association, including a fashion show, Lady’s Captain Dinner and a Christmas Fair.
Jan said: “I know first-hand just how devastating stroke can be so when I was appointed Lady’s Captain, I was keen to raise as much awareness and vital funds as I could. The Stroke Association is an incredible charity and provides invaluable support to stroke survivors and their families. I am so grateful to all of our club members, friends and family for their generosity and help.”
Joanne Burr, Community and Events Fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “Without the efforts of fundraisers like Jan and the members of the Crosland Heath Golf Club, we wouldn’t be able to support the 112,300 people in Yorkshire and Humber who are currently living with the devastating effects of stroke, as well as their families and carers. We’re so grateful for them for clubbing together to support our work.”
