DJ Kev Seed joins survivors to take a Step Out for Stroke in Liverpool

The Stroke Association is hosting a Step out for Stroke walk in Croxteth Park at 11:30am on Saturday 06 May.

This family fundraising event is open to everyone, regardless of age or ability and the charity is calling on people to register now and take part alongside local stroke survivors and their families.

Liverpool DJ Kev Seed, 48, will officially open the walk, after having a stroke in July 2016 caused by a bleed on the brain. The former Radio City, Wish FM, Juice FM and Rock FM presenter, who was a household name on Merseyside in the late 1990s to mid 2000s, fell ill while going for a meal. Mr Seed will officially open the walk to mark a milestone in his recovery.

The day will also include lots of family-friendly activities including a purple selfie booth, community fire engine and lots more. Local choirs from St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, Liverpool 6 and St Laurence’s Catholic Primary School, Liverpool 32 will also be performing uplifting songs for the participants.

Louise Lawless, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at the Stroke Association, said: “We’re inviting the whole community to come to this fun day out and help us make it an event to remember. Our Step Out for Stroke events mark a milestone for many stroke survivors taking part, and it’s an event that the whole family will enjoy.

“We’re looking forward to seeing some truly inspirational people who will be taking their first steps since their stroke and we’re thrilled that Kev seed can join us to open the walk. Everyone taking part will be joined by hundreds of people across the UK who are walking to raise vital funds for everyone affected by stroke.”
