Local celebrities line up for Stroke Association Christmas carol service

The Stroke Association’s annual Christmas carol service will this year take place on Friday 1 December at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Street.

The charity’s star-studded evening, will include festive readings by TV favourite Chris Tarrant, gold medal Paralympian Megan Giglia, and Call The Midwife star Victoria Yeates.

Chris Tarrant said: “I know first-hand how devastating stroke can be and I am delighted to be joining The Stroke Association for their annual Christmas Carol Service. The Stroke Association does such an amazing and invaluable job of supporting and campaigning on behalf of stroke survivors and their families. I hope we raise the roof and also raise funds and awareness for stroke.”

Gabi Field, Head of Community and Events Fundraising for the Stroke Association, said: “Our carol service is always a great opportunity for friends and family to enjoy the Christmas spirit and support a brilliant cause. The funds raised will make a huge difference to the lives of people living with stroke, and we’re all looking forward to special performances from Chris Tarrant, Megan Giglia and Victoria Yeates.

“Around one in three stroke survivors have difficulty speaking and understanding, leaving them feeling lost for words. Events like these are so important: the funds raised will help us be there for even more stroke survivors, helping them rebuild their lives.”

Doors will open at 7:00pm. Ticket prices are £20 and £12 for concessions. For more information, please visit www.stroke.org.uk/CarolService or call 020 7940 1347
