Press release -

Local stroke group to host fun-filled fundraiser

The Stroke Association’s Merseyside Life After Stroke Group is inviting local residents to a fun filled evening at Maghull Town Hall, to help raise vital funds for the support group. On Friday 13 January from 7:30pm, guests will enjoy music and entertainment, along with a hot pot supper.

The Merseyside Life After Stroke Group is a volunteer led, self-funded group which provides art therapy, creative support and peer support for stroke survivors and carers from across Merseyside.

Colette Masters from the group and one of the event organisers, said: “We’re hosting the event to raise vital funds for the group and enable us to continue to hold our weekly sessions. The group is fun and informal but gives stroke survivors the opportunity to meet others who are also experiencing a life after stroke.

“The peer support enables our members to build social connections and friendships that continue outside of the group, while art therapy and creative support builds confidence and allows people to express themselves in new ways. We’d love to see lots of people join us for what promises to be a great evening.”

The event will take place at Maghull Town Hall, Hall Lane, Maghull, L31 7BB, and tickets costs £5. For tickets and further information please contact Colette on 07960 016 945 or Kate on 0151 529 3828.
