The Stroke Association calls on Liverpool festive fun runners to help conquer stroke

The Stroke Association is appealing to runners in Liverpool to join the charity’s team at the Medicash Santa Dash in Liverpool City Centre, on Sunday 06 December.

Now in its 12th year, the festive 5k course starts at the Pier Head on Canada Boulevard in front of the Liver Buildings and finishes in front of the Town Hall at Castle Street.

Siân Thomas, Regional Fundraiser from the Stroke Association, said: “The festive spirt will definitely be in the air for our supporters taking on the Santa Dash. But there’s a serious purpose behind the event; stroke is the leading cause of complex adult disability in the UK. At the Stroke Association, we want to be there for everyone affected by stroke, so please do join our team and help us raise the funds that could make that possible.

“In return for joining the Stroke Association's team, we'll be with you every step of the way and can offer you an expert training plan, fundraising tips, a Stroke Association t-shirt and lots of help and support.”

In the North West, there are more than 14,600 strokes per year and over 157,300 people living with the effects of stroke.

If you haven't already registered, you can apply for a place by visiting the BTR website: http://www.btrliverpool.com/#!santa-dash/c1hsh.
