survivor Bex Jennings, 23, took on the Hyde Park Resolution Run on Sunday 22
September to raise
vital funds for the Stroke Association.
Bex was
inspired to take on the Resolution Run after she had a devastating stroke aged

survivor and Banwell resident Peter Griffith is gearing up to take part in the
first ever Bristol 100/60/25 cycle ride on Sunday 28 September. Peter aims to
tackle the event’s 100 mile route to raise £500 for

A new project which highlights the importance of the awareness of stroke is being rolled out across West Wales.
The Stroke Association’s Act FAST- Be Stroke Aware project is now active across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. The programme aims to recruit, train and support volunteers to provide stroke awareness and prevention messages to work places and groups in the community.
A voluntary support group for stroke survivors in Newport is eager to attract new volunteers.
Casnewydd Stroke Support Group is primarily a communication support group for stroke survivors with aphasia but is open to all affected by stroke. One in three stroke survivors have aphasia, which means they can find it difficult to speak, read and write.
Peter Smith, 78, has been volunteering with
Stroke survivors from Cwmbran, New Inn and Newport are being encouraged to discover their musical side and join a new choir.
Stroke Association, in partnership with Head for Arts, is organising the choir, which will be made up of people who have been affected by stroke, their family and carers.
