Appeal to identify man in CCTV images following attempted till snatch in Banstead

We are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man who we’d like to speak to about an attempted theft at a petrol station in Banstead.

At 10.30pm on Saturday, 17 November 2018, we received a call reporting that man had entered a petrol station shop on Nork Way in Banstead, while staff were cashing up. The man jumped onto the cash desk in an attempt to take cash out of the till, scratching the cashier’s hand during the incident and then fled from the premises.

The man is believed to be white, around 5ft 7 inches tall, wearing a black coat, blue jeans, dark glasses and a face covering.

Anyone with any information about who the man is should contact Surrey Police on 101 or use and quote the reference number PR/45180122910.

Alternatively you can report information in anonymity to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
